  • Hi, I bought a Shelly Plus Plug S, I updated it to the latest version available (it has done two updates).
Then I integrated it into Home Assistant and connected an aquarium LED lamp. I configured a schedule in Home Assistant so that it turns on every day at 7:00 and turns off at 19:00.
As long as it is on everything is ok. When it turns off I see the LEDs flash every 120 seconds.
For some reason the Shelly gives a peak of energy every 120 seconds.
I also disconnected it from Home Assistant and used the internal schedule but it has the same defect.

I need it to stay off when it is off and not give peaks of energy to the loads I connect.

  • Reverse the plug of the LED lamp in the Shelly (turn 180 degrees). Now test again. If the sudden flashing is still there, reverse the Shelly in the wall socket (turn 180 degrees) and test again!

  • Normally it shouldn't flash. Try plugging the Shelly Plug S into the socket the other way round. I know that some LEDs light up slightly when the polarity L and N are reversed. Yours may be charging up and giving off a short pulse.

    Thanks, problem solved.
Amazing how the solution was so simple ^^

  • The issue was the the very sensitive LED lamp. In some constellations, the Shelly switches neutral instead of live. Turning by 180 degrees amends this situation…
