Hello everyone,
I’m planning to use a Shelly PRO 1 to control a sliding gate and monitor the status of its limit switches (open/close). The idea is to connect the two limit switches to the SW1 and SW2 inputs of the Shelly PRO 1. However, I’m concerned about the safety of running live AC mains (LINE) directly to the limit switches, which are often located near mechanical parts of the gate.
To minimize risk, I’d like to implement an isolation interface between the Shelly inputs and the limit switches. My preference is to use DIN-rail mounted components, powered by 220–240V AC, to keep everything neat and safe in the electrical cabinet.
Could anyone share a schematic or recommend a simple, reliable circuit for this kind of isolation? For example, something using relays, optocouplers, or signal isolators in DIN format that can safely interface the low-voltage side of the switches with the Shelly inputs.
Any product references (e.g., Finder, Phoenix Contact, Wieland) or example diagrams would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!
