  • We've been using the wifi Shelly Plug S for a while. The Plug S has a small button on its side that can be used to manually toggle power state on the plug, that is to say, a device that is getting power through the Plug S can be turned on or off with this switch. This is great, because we don't have to use the HTTP API or app to toggle the plug state - just click the button, light goes green, device is now on. We just noticed that the button on the Pro1 does not toggle power, but toggles access point or does a factory reset. Is there some way we can change the behavior of this button, some kind of firmware change/update or hidden setting we can flip? Just to be clear, we do not want to be forced to use the api or app to toggle power state, we know that's the recommended way of doing it, but we really want to use a physical button on the unit itself, just like the cheaper Plug S does. We have reasons. Surely this is possible?

  • This quite simple:

Open the WebUI of the Shelly device (http://<ip-of-shelly>) with a web browser:

Der Inhalt kann nicht angezeigt werden, da Sie keine Berechtigung haben, diesen Inhalt zu sehen.

Click „settings“ and „Reset Button Behavior“!

Next, enable the feature with its radio button:

Der Inhalt kann nicht angezeigt werden, da Sie keine Berechtigung haben, diesen Inhalt zu sehen.

    Done…

  • Well, I should have been more specific. We have a Shelly Pro 1PM, and our menu doesn't have this option. There isn't a "settings" menu, only "device", and it doesn't have an option to override the button behavior.

Update : nevermind, I had to apply a whole bunch of firmware updates first. Now we have the option. Thanks, problem solved.
