Connection two-way switch with two wires

    Hi All,

    At my home I have a two-way switch with 2 wires (instead of 3), see the diagram in the attachment. Is it possible to connect a shelly such that I can still operate the physical two-way switches as intended and also use the shelly whenever I want? I know a shelly 1L is used to control a general two-way switch, but my two-way switch has one less wire and the standard connection would not work.

    You’re referencing a so called “Spar.Wechselschaltung”, which is shown in the forum’s lexicon area:

    Prerequisite is a neutral wire in the junction box containing the “lamp wire”.

    Thankyou this makes sense. However, I'm still stuck with a problem. Currently the gray wire from the two switches is directly connected to light and I have no possibility to disconnect this. Is there still another way to do this, maybe something is possible with 2 shelly's?

    I suppose you’re trying to install the Shelly in the wrong junction box or switch box. You should use the one with the lamp wire in.

    That was also what I thought at first glance, but I opened up both junction boxes and I didn't saw the lamp wire. The problem is that the wire from both switch boxes go to a central box in the ceiling (which is not reachable), where they are connected to each other and to the lamp wire.

    So is there another option to create this connection correctly? maybe with 2 shelly's, one in either switch box and connect these via software or something?
