External Switch (Garage) not changing states

I have configured a Shelly 1 to control my garage door and wired the Shelly 1 switch in series with a reed switch (NO) to Gnd using a 24 VDC power supply from the motor controller.

1. Button type: Detached Switch

2. Power on default: Off

3. Timer: Auto Off after 2 sec.

4. Input state: ON (and this woks correctly showing the reed switch closed/open)

5. Appliance type: Relay

6. External Switch: Enable/Garage

7. Firmware Version: 20220209-092750/v1.11.8

The issue is that the display shows the garage door always open or closed if I reverse it. The Power Button Input State will show the correct colors. I set it up green when closed and red when open, but the door icon never updates

Any suggestions? or is this a firmware issue?

I thought that was only required if your power supply is 110/240 because you cannot use the Gnd.
