    The Shelly 1L has some „tricky“ circuits in its guts to harvest the necessary power for its own needs if operated without neutral. Thus, two MOSFETS are in the circuit path of the load - together with the relay contact. These transistors are modulated slightly to generate the supply voltage for the Shelly. This may produce flickering - especially with LED bulb connected. It depends widely on the type of the bulb if flickering occurs or not!

    The bypass was NOT designed to avoid flickering!

    I don't really agree.

    The bypass is there to prevent the light from being turned on when the shelly is off, so it doesn't work.

    Shelly is committed to make the 1l work even with the led though....

    And by the way: The bypass shall allow a sufficient current flow with small loads - whatever the relay is on or off!
