RCD trips when connected to standard single phase UK consumer unit

Afternoon All,

I'm having trouble installing the Shelly EM into my UK single phase consumer unit. The consumer unit has an RCD which trips as soon as I flip the Shelly CB.

I've read the forum post about the CB tripping on the Austrailian install and the CBs in that consumer unit have both the Live and Neutral on the CB.

My UK CBs have individual Live connections and a common Neutral.

This is probably a simple solution but I haven't been able to find it on Google and I'm sure someone here will know the answer right away.

Please try to draw a little sketch which shows us how you have connected the Shelly EM and the consumers behind it!

Thanks for the reply and I have just sorted it. The RCD and the CB I was connecting to were on different Neutral bus bars as the consumer unit has two separate ones.

After I found and read this: How To: Wiring neutral to a Shelly product | Facebook, I realised my error.

I will mark this as thread as answered in case anyone else trips over this issue.

I have recently had a new consumer unit (full RCBO) and now my upstairs lights circuit will not function. Previously the consumer unit was a 10 way and 5 of the ways were RCD protected and the other side wasn't. The side that wasn't protected had the upstairs lights

All of the lights on the circuit have a shelly switch but two lights also have a 2 way switch as well

Landing Light - Typical upstairs and downstairs
Loft Light - One switch on the landing one up in the loft

This is how they are wired and it was all ok until the new RCBO which basically either instantly trips or it trips when you turn on one of the two way switches

This should be right from everything I have read and understand, can anyone help?
