For the external temperature, the idea there as I understant it, is to make other sensor push data to this endpoint. And the TRV will take it in mind.
I agree that there may be some links in the dashboard to the exact place in the documentation.
Other questions are valid and I'm giving thumbs up.
Take in mind that there is a beta version that will be released soon, and there may be solutions for this issues.

I wasn't aware of this functionality when I wrote my post, but it defently works fine. Already tested.
When you disable automatic temperature control, the valve can be set in any position.

Have you tried holding the start button next to the USB port for long time? 10-30 sec?

OK if it happens again I'll send you the report.

TRV continues to heat after reached the optimal temperature. It's like this for hours.

In the same time: Valve position: 100 %
Is there a debug log that I can shere or some other way to make your life easier with this kind of issues?
I restarted the device 5min after the screenshot. The current temperature after restart was "26.6 C". Looks like this is the actual temperature, because it stays the same even after 5-10min.
2-3min after the restart the valve was closed.
General observations from this update: The valve is more dynamic (changes position more regularly) and it looks like it does better work then the previous one.

You can find all the controls in your browser inspection pannel, in the network tab.
GET: http://[IP]/settings/thermostat/0?target_t_enabled=1&target_t=22

When should we expect the app update?
Are you going to use TestFlight for this releases?

I have 4 TRVs. They regularly miss their position. When I see their position is 0% for a long time I go and check the radiator. The radiator is hot. One of them has really noisy valve and I can hear the water going trough it.
After I do calibration, everything is back to normal, but on the next day, the situation is the same.
I don't think calibrating every day is a solution. (Although I made a tool to simplify the process and tracking of this issue.)
I hope that we are able to find a solution soon.
Best regards.

If it's in AP mode you can connect to it with ip in your browser and enable factory reset in settings, or enable calibration process.
