In short words, I want to know if the door is opened or closed from the API.
If open then the only option available is to close it, not possible to open it again, as it is already, and vice-versa.
Today, the API just turns on or off the relay, simulation a button press. But when I'm outside home I don't know if I'm closing or opening the door, I'm blind. To solve this issue I put a reed switch (that works perfectly), but I don't have this status information through the API response.
I have the shelly 1 as in the attached picture.
The contact sensor (reed switch) closed when the door is completed opened, indicating in the App the switch button is Open (with a blue pipe in the icon, see image).
And now with your suggestion, I get EXT SWITH (above the button), but I don't see any difference or improvement from setting this EXTERNAL SWITCH option in the app to Shelly. So, not sure how this works.

With Actions or via scenes you can use the commands for opening and closing

I attached a picture, with the setting but nothing changed the prior behavior on/off. I can see in your picture you have already set "Flipping the switch turns output ON/OFF", what does it do exactly? kind of confusing.

Maybe someone already faced it or can help me, or as a suggestion to improve the cloud API endpoints.
I have integrated a Shelly 1 to my garage door, and everything is working as expected, open/close simulating the push button, but I wanted to go further and I have added a reed switch to know if the door is opened (indicated in the app with a blue coloration in the power button icon) or closed. But, the API endpoints available for Shelly 1 has a property for turn = "on" or "off", which does not mean that the door is opened or closed, but just to trigger the switch on/off of the relay. So, is there a way, knowing now by a sensor/reed switch that the door is opened or closed to trigger an action like "open door" (if closed) or "close door" (if opened)?
