Hey, I just registered to reply, as I was wondering about this for a long time. I just tried it out for the first time, to monitor my 3phase kitchen stove, and oven with a 3EM.
It's slightly different from you, but what I found:
You sacrifice a phase (and consequently its voltage, Watt and kwh measurement), as the shelly needs something connected to neutral. to work.
This isn't a huge issue, especially if you don't care about perfect accuracy, you can either:
-take the voltage from the other 2 phases, average it, or use a static value.
-Even better, what i did: make sure the voltages your DSMR digital meter reports (in belgian delta 3 phases the meter only reports 2 out of 3) don't fully overlap with the shelly. Then you can actually know the full 3 voltages of all phases.
Then with that info, make some template sensors that multiply voltage and amps, and a Riemann integral to track energy use of this power sensor. That might be what you mean with "2 clamp method" ?
I realize that might not fully answer your question, but I don't have all info yet:
Do you have a digital meter? If not, you'll get one this year anyway, as much as it sucks financially, it makes monitoring and measuring much much easier. At least full-house total power use is easy, instead of needing to look for exotic solutions like i was doing for a year beforehand.
The DSMR meter does not tell you exactly what your solar panels are doing, so you probably want another solution.
Yes, as far as I can tell the 3EM gives you exported energy as well. Just flip the clamps to make sure the direction is right.
What I did instead for my solar panels, I don't like clamp solutions all that much for critical measurements:
Install an Eastron SDM120M before your panels' 230v enters the house, and read the Modbus output from that with a LilyGO T-CAN485. It's clean (all mounted on DIN rail), easy (no crazy rewiring), reliable and accurate. The good thing about Modbus is you can have multiple Eastron units chained for one Lilygo reader. There are also models that can measure delta three phase (SDM630 Modbus), this is an option too... i was considering it before the digital meter.
