I have been in contact with Shelly Support, and the Wall Display performance is now improved such that it is workable for me at the moment.

It appeared that the main cause of the poor performance was that the dedicated Home Assistant dashboard was too complicated, with too many elements and too complex graphical options.
I reduced the number of shown cards, and I removed all the historical graphs from the Sensor Cards such that only the current values are shown.

The response is now such that it is workable: when I now push a button on the touch screen the graphics of this button changes within 1 to 2 seconds.
And the number of crashes of the Shelly Stargate app is also reduced: it is now crashing 2 to 5 times a day instead of 30 times a day.
The issue with the direct Bluetooth connection between the Wall Display and the BLU H&T sensor seems to be more stable as well now: it now disconnects like once in a few days.

Shelly Support told me that the Home Assistance access via the Stargate app currently is still experimental, and they are actively working on improving the Stargate app, so hopefully the performance will improve further in the near future.

an additional problem, not related to Home Assistant I think, is that the BLE connection to the BLU H&T sensor is buggy: it looses connection every couple of days, and I then have to do a Full reboot of the Wall Display to get the H&T connected again.

It appears to be possible to directly integrate the Shelly BLU H&T sensor into Home Assistant via Bluetooth: the sensor was shown in Home Assistant as a “discovered new device” via the BTHome integration, with as device name SBHT-003C.
So I added the H&T sensor into Home Assistant, and now have five sensors for that device: Temperature, Humidity, Battery, Signal Strength and Packet Id directly in Home Assistant:

Der Inhalt kann nicht angezeigt werden, da Sie keine Berechtigung haben, diesen Inhalt zu sehen.

This appears to be functioning fine, whilst the same H&T sensor is also still connected to the Shelly Wall Display.
So I now have the temperature and humidity values from the BLU H&T sensor shown on the Home Assistant Dashboard on the Wall Display again, but now these values are going directly from the H&T sensor to Home Assistant, and not any more via the Wall Display.

So, while the Wall Display is still often losing the direct connection with the H&T sensor, meaning a Full reboot of the Wall Display to get this direct connection back, this problem with the buggy BLE connection to the Wall Display is now “solved” for me.

But unfortunately the other two problems still persist:
The often crashing Shelly Stargate app and the extremely slow graphical updating of the Shelly Stargate app.

    So one more try:
Are there other users with the same experiences?
Is there a solution for these problems?
Can we expect firmware updates that will solve these problems?

The Home Assistant interface in the Stargate app is extremely slow and unresponsive. Every action, like pushing a button, takes half a minute or so to get a response.
This normally should be an instant response.

One clarification: what I mean is the graphical response on the Wall Display itself: it takes a long time for the graphics on the display to adapt when something has changed.
For instance when I push a button on the Wall Display that toggles an input_boolean in Home Assistant, and that for instance changes the icon or colour of that button, this takes a long time to happen, making it unclear whether the action was performed. In reality Home Assistant does react instantly.
When I do the same via a browser on for instance a PC the graphics are updated instantly, so it is only a local problem on the Wall Display.

I am using more then forty Shelly devices at home, and generally I am very happy with these devices. However, for several days I am now using a Shelly Wall Display in combination with Home Assistant, and unfortunately the experience is disappointing.

    Some background info:
This is a Wall Display with the latest available firmware version 2.3.6 and with a Shelly BLU H&T sensor connected via BLE.
The BLU H&T sensor is running the latest available firmware as well (updated via the Shelly BLE Debug app).
I have installed the official Home Assistant Stargate app from Shelly on the Wall Display and have successfully connected to my Home Assistant server, using a dedicated non-admin User in Home Assistant.
This user has access to a dedicated Home Assistant Dashboard, designed to fit on the Wall Display. This dashboard mainly contains simple entities like tiles and buttons etc.
I am not using the Shelly Cloud, so only WiFi and Bluetooth are activated in the Wall Display.

The main problems that I have are:

The Home Assistant Stargate app crashes often, like every 40 minutes or so. On the screen I then see a pop-up “Shelly Stargate has stopped Open app again” and the app restarts.
It takes more than a minute to fully restart.

The Home Assistant interface in the Stargate app is extremely slow and unresponsive. Every action, like pushing a button, takes half a minute or so to get a response.
This normally should be an instant response.

These problems in fact make the combination with Home Assistant unreliable and unusable at the moment.

And an additional problem, not related to Home Assistant I think, is that the BLE connection to the BLU H&T sensor is buggy: it looses connection every couple of days, and I then have to do a Full reboot of the Wall Display to get the H&T connected again.
The H&T sensor is only five meters away with no obstructions in between.
I did not connect the Wall Display to a Bluetooth speaker yet, so the BLE connection is solely used for the H&T sensor.
