And one more thing. With a little playing around I find that the 2PM that in 24VDC mode it runs in a ground switched mode. While I can make this work for my design, I can see that UL would probably have an issue running things as ground switched. Maybe that's the reason for pulling the 24VDC markings and such from the UL listed version.

OK. Thanks for the info to "reverse" the ground from hot. My device DOES!!! work on 24VDC! I can take comfort in my error in that nothing in the documentation (in the box) mentions 24VDC connections so I just assumed N would be ground when doing 24VDC. What a surprise - and a good one! Back to my old design! My only guess on this version of the 2PM is that it is UL listed. It may be possible that UL made them 'take out' the 24VDC. My only guess to why is that in the USA we cannot by code mix 120VAC and low voltage wiring in the same switch box. Just a guess on my part. Anyway, thanks for the help and assistance!

Well, for anyone watching this thread ... I got one of the units up and wifi connected using 120VAC. Then I tried to power up using 24VDC. Nothing. No response whatsoever. Plugged back up to 120VAC and all is fine. So the verdict is in - there are Shelly Plus 2PM units out there that DO NOT run on 24VDC!! Ran the numbers and rather than sending units back and trying to get a Shelly version that DOES run on 24VDC, its just cheaper for me to now add multiple 120VAC to 24VDC transformers after every Shelly. Not nearly as elegant a circuitry but it'll work. Don't know if these units are just in the USA market or what. Buyers beware. Absolutely nothing on web about these units. Sure wish Shelly or distributors would let customers know what they are actually getting. Disappointing but I'll work around this.

Here's a couple pics. THX for the quick responses - great forum! I'm thinking of trying to apply 24VDC and see what happens. Glad to hear any reason why I shouldn't from you more experienced users. I'm building a spa controller to replace my now defunct 30 year old controller. Not real complicated as it is primarily just switching on/off a couple 1.5HP motors and regulating temperature. Planning to use the ADDON for temp sensing. I just need the 24VDC to trigger the high power relays and would rather not have to put another layer of relays/transformers because I can't run 24VDC through the Shelly Plus 2PM

Just received 3 Shelly Plus 2PMs - model# SNSW-002P16UL. (Bought thru Amazon) Was expecting units to have both 24VDC power or 120VAC power. What I received has no 24VDC markings (all pics I've seen of the 'top' of the unit show AC 110-240V with DC 24V right under it - including the pics on Amazon and Shelly web site) and no mention of being able to operate on 24VDC. Why is there no 24VDC markings on my units and no mention of 24VDC operation in documentation I got with the units. Everything I've seen/found on web and on Shelly web site shows the 24VDC. I was planning on running some high power relays off of the 2PMs that use 24VDC trigger voltage. What is the deal? Where did these apparently non 24VDC units come from?? Can I run them on 24VDC even though it doesn't mention it in documentation or have any 24VDC markings?
