I understand all the concern about battery consumption and heat build up, but I would like to be in control and decide by myself if those issues are a concern or not in my application. As it is today the device is extremely limited and is almost not usable in any monitoring applications. The data is reported too much infrequently and and a temperature threshold of 0.5°C is huge....I really hope that they will reconsider those choices and leave more control to the end user.
