Shelly app or with the webUI, you’ll see a blue or red underscore in the button used to switch the Shelly by manual intervention.

I think I nearly got it.
For a moment, I saw the shelly app turn on relay 1 when my Guardline detected motion.
Then it all stopped working.
Can I just check, for my dry contact input, I need to put "Over-adc threshold (mV): 0" as the setting in the ADC automation menu?
P.s. does the blue "I" on the power icon indicate Input detected?
You may invert the input in Shelly's menue - or wire NO instead of NC.

The other side is connected to the input of the Shelly. Normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO) is another aspect.
It would be more convenient and reliable to use the SENS Vcc pin (4) for the high side of the contacts, as I mentioned above.

I've got a Shelly Uni powered on and connected to my WLAN, and the Cloud integration working with Samsung Smartthings, so I can see two switches on my Shelly Uni in Smartthings.
I intend to take dry contact input from my Guardline driveway sensor in the attached diagram.
I used to have a Door sensor which the Guardline was wired to,
COM on Guardline -> GND on Door sensor, and
NC (Normally Closed) on Guardline -> IN on Door sensor
My next challenge is being able to fire a Smartthings Event when the Guardline triggers it's dry contact output, but that's where I'm stuck. I wondered if anyone can please:
firstly advise me how I can query the Shelly (perhaps see a log etc) for whether it detected an input on the dry contacts, and
secondly how I can make a SmartThings event happen? I realise the switches on the Shelly are not useful for me as i will not be attaching anything to them.

NC on Guardline -> 7 on shelly uni
Maybe there is your problem.
It was the router. I was able to connect it to a different wireless access point on my network.
Please add Asus AC-RT86U (Merlin firmware) to your list of incompatible routers. Sigh, why is nothing ever simple

thanks, I did. The ssid, password are correct with no special characters as I mentioned.
However I did spot that a very similar router to mine is listed on the blacklist. Asus AC-RT88U. Mine is Asus AC-RT86U flashed with Merlin firmware hmmm......
Does the Shelly appear in your router? Are new devices allowed in your router?

Hi all,
Just received my first Shelly device and I'm trying to get it on my WiFi.
I've so far managed to add it via the shelly android app, but it just shows as offline constantly and never appears on my WLAN.
I also managed to access it's WebUi via its own SSID, and entered my WiFi network details through that (no special characters anywhere)
Tried DHCP and static IPs
Any advice please?

Yes, both digital inputs (IN-1, IN-2) of Shelly UNI may be controlled by dry contacts. One side of the contact must be wired with pin ‘SENS Vcc’, the other with the appropriate input (IN-1 or IN-2).

I'd just need to trial and error which the COM and NC out of my sensor go to on the Shelly
