How exactly can I do that, keeping in mind that I can't save any setting?

I have a feeling that I don't understand what is expected of me to do.

I did try it.

Connect the laptop to the iPhone hotspot.

Then connect the second iPhone to the laptop via cable and share the internet from the laptop.

I checked that with mobile data turned off and no wifi second iPhone has internet.

Open the Shelly app.

Find Dimmer 2.

Try to update Firmware.
And get the same message that there is no internet connection.

And was not able to save anything as well.

Let me try.

What I find a bit confusing is that connecting to a second phone WLAN (hot spot) will use a WiFi connection.

And I will lose it as soon as I will connect via WiFi to the Shelly Dimmer. You can't connect to 2 WiFi points at the same time, right?

Personal hotspot is working on the phone, yes.

The firmware can potentially be updated.

The exact version is on the screenshot.

Right now, I only have the Internet on my phone.

I am trying to set up Shelly Dimmer 2.

I open the Shelly app and click add device.

It did find a dimmer and proposed to connect to its wifi point.

I did connect. Then device is shown in pending state.

I open the internet settings and enter the local 2Ghz network login and password.

But I can't save them. Same with other settings.

Afterwards, I disconnect from the wifi point of the shelly dimmer and it disappears and in the app saying it's offline. Which make sense, because dimmer can't connect to wifi without a password.

What has gone wrong?

I feel confused a bit: if the power input of the Prado push button is connected to L directly, then it should get all power it needs?

Or it's push button signal output is not good enough to turn on the SW pin of Shelly? But why then fan starts? And then stops?

Well, I am not trying to cross a river in a car. I am trying to use Dimmer as a Switch. Is there any particular reason why it wouldn't work?

Probably, but I do have Shelly DImmer 2 and don't have Shelly 1 or plus 1.

So I would prefer to solve this without buying additional equipment if it would be possible.

Hmm... prado is connected to L of dimmer, but I can also connect it directly to the line.

The signal output is connected to the SW of the dimmer. I have a feeling that either I connected it incorrectly,

either I don't understand why SW should output any power.

Am I correct and SW is for signal input, and O is for signal output?

So the load should be between O and N?

Looks like it's ok to turn it on and of, but not change the speed. And that's what I need. Turn it on and off.

But what about the push button problem?
I have it wherever I connect a fan or lightbulb.

I am trying to connect the exhaust fan to Prado push button via Shelly Dimmer 2.

It works from the Shelly app interface, but if I click the button, it switches the fan on and immediately off.

I would assume that pressing the button produces 2 signals.

What can I do from the shelly side to fix the situation?
