Design a system with shelly 2.5 for 12V motors

  • Hello there,

I'm a novice with very minimal electrical knowledge.

I'm trying to control my roller blinds with a 12VDC motor (2 wire).

The idea was to wire it as shown in Pic 1 or Pic 2 (attached).

But when i tried to read the voltage between O1 and O2, it reads in miliVolts.

Would I need a external power source to convert 110VAC to 12VDC to run the motor? How would the wiring look like for such an arrangement?

    I bought this motor.

Let me know if you need more information.

    Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum. :)

That's not how it works. The operating voltage always comes out at the outputs O1 and O2.

There are already numerous German-language articles on DC motors. Search times with, for example, Google Translate

  • Hello 66er,

    Thank you for your response.

I could find 2 posts which refer to a shutter relay. I tried to find it but was unsuccessful.

I also could not find a US equivalent of this.

I've think this would serve the same purpose.

Is the pic 3 looks to be a correct wiring diagram?

    Thanks.

  • This will not work. O1/O2 do not switch polaritiy.

One will connect to L, the other one will be open.

You will definetively need external relais to get this working
