Shelly Dimmer 2 | Lights turn on randomly/without any reason

  • I have several shelly devices installed in my house (4 Shelly 1, 2 Shelly 2.5, 1 Shelly 1L) and I had no problems with them.

Yesterday I installed a Shelly Dimmer 2 in my bedroom to control the lights of my bedroom

Tonight at 2 am the lights went on for no reason (it's not a good feeling to wake up in the middle of the night with the lights on).

I turned off the lights using the Shelly app, but at 7 am the situation happened again and once again at 10am.

Does anyone have a clue what could be the reason ?

Installation: I have a single switch connected to the shelly dimmer 2 device with no neutral and with a Bypass: I can control the lights in the switch or in the shelly app

    Thanks for your help

  • Hello, I think I have the exact same problem. I have several types of shelly (1v3,1pm, 2.5, em), and the only one I have this problem with is shelly dimmer 2. The firmware version is 20211109-131033 / v1.11.7-g682a0db. Initially, I thought it was a problem related to a rapid spike on the SW1 pin causing state changes. So I tried to increase the debounce time to 200ms but without results. The only difference between our configurations lies in the wiring. Having less than 10W of load I am using neutral wiring. Were you able to solve the problem?

  • I'm facing the exact same issue. Not sure why this has been marked as resolved?

Last night, at 3am, the lights on their own switched on. Looking at the Homeassistant logs, this seems to occur way more often than I was aware.

Shelly dimmer 2 connected with neutral and with flip-switch - it powers three LED-spots of a few Watt each. It's on its own Wifi & VLAN and talks to HA over MQTT. No timers or other settings set in the Shelly itself.

Wondering what could be done about this?

  • Same problem over here.

Dimmer2 connected with neutral and connected to two 6W LED bulbs.

Light turns on at random moments even in the middle of the night which is not wat you need for a bedroom light...

Is there an official ticket registered for this issue yet?
