No current measurement

  • Hi

my Shelly EM is connected and reports to my MQTT, the latest firmware is applied. I can operate the internal switch.

A 50A sensor is connected to P0. The problem: I get no readings from the sensor. Because I know I make mistakes :whistling: I first want to make sure it's not me but the device.

Now I wonder how to debug the sensor and the Shelly. May I connect the sensor to a multimeter for testing? If yes, what settings on the multimeter would be recommended? Or use a fake source as input to the Shelly to force a reading?

  • Thanks for the reply, here it is.

I guess the 244.01V reading from MQTT Explorer is the power input:

  • ok and the current transformer is connected on L (noT N or gnd) from the same phase?

also check the red cable from P1+, maybe it's not fully connected..

  • I don't exactly understand the 1st question. "Current transformer": do you mean the sensor (transformer)? Or the cable going through the sensor?

Shelly and the electric drill used as test item are connected to the same phase, if that's the question. The blue and brown cables come from my test plug I use for my electrical prototyping, the wiring should be ok. And both the Shelly and the drill use the same wall plug.

The cable looks ok, I get a finite resistance measurement P1+ - P1-:
