Two Way Switching With Shelly 1 - Irish/UK wiring

    I purchased a Shelly 1 for some spotlights which are controlled by a 2 way switch. I got an electrician to install the Shelly but he told me it wouldn't be possible to wire it without blocking off 1 of the switches as the switched live and live are at different switches. Is there a way it can be wired without blocking off 1 of the switches.

    Is it possible to wire a Shelly 1 to get both the switches working or would a Shelly 1L be better in this instance? What would the wiring diagram look like when connecting it up?

    There are 3 possibilities:

    1. Change your switches against push buttons/ momentary switches.

    2. (If it is allowed in your country)

    Change the wiring that you have live in the second switch and neutral in the first, than use 2 shelly1

    3. Use a Shelly 1L , perhaps is the bypass needed.

    For wiring diagrams take a look into the lexicon, there are some examples.

    if the power is below 20W then bypass parallel to the lamp.
