Question on 'device name'

    I am looking for some clarification about device name.

    If i connect directly to the Shelly 1 via http and use the HTML interface (not the app) to set the device name, it seems that as far as the router is concerned my device keeps its orginal name (aka 'Shelly-<alphabet soup>'). Is that expected? Or is it my router behaving incorrectly (it is my ISP router so it is pretty mediocre) ? If not, then what is the 'Device name' (that we can set in the HTML UI) used for?

    yes, the real hostname (shellyType-xxxxxxxxxxxx) cannot be changed,

    "device name" is just a meaningful description for the WebUI/App..

    Why this can't be changed? It would be super useful if you could change that name.

    The use case is super simple: You set up 20 devices. It would be easier to access the web UI knowing the hostname (looking at the router) instead of guessing the IP or looking in excel or piece of paper.
