I'm looking for a smart dimmer to control lights via an app remotely but also retain local control with a dedicated switch on the wall. From reading a few of the threads here, it looks like an on/off switch could work but how about a dedicated dimming switch or knob?

Dimming the shelly works with:
short press : turn on / off
long press : dimming up /down
push short 2 times : turn 0n with 100%

There's no simpler option for such as a potentiometer for a lay person to walk to and understand how to operate it without printed instructions?

It's nice to know! This is something I didn't find in standard documentation (e.g. specs and/or manual), as I was looking to the shortest way to force light to 100% (e.g. during the day) by using the wall switch and not applications or by program.
