Gate with reed-contact

Hi All,

I'm new on the forum and I have a question about how to set up a shelly 1 so I can open or close a gate. I also would like to see with a reed-contact if the gate is open or close.

Thanks for your fast reply.

I think I know how to connect the shelly with the gate hardware. My problem is that I do not understand what the shelly setting should be so I can use the SW input for a reed contact.

Maybe a stupid question but what do you mean with the addon for the reed contact?

The functionality is similar as a garage door opener. See attached picture.

the temperature addon can since firmware 1.9 used for other things, like external switches, reed contacts and many other.

The button type should detached.

But you know that the read need the same voltage like the shelly is powered by?

I have changed the button type to detached and it is now indeed possible to add external sensors. See also a picture of my screen in the attachment. Next step, do you now what the settings are so I can use a reed contact?

Yes I know that the reed contact needs the same voltage. I use my Shelly in 12V dc setting so it is safe in use.
