Shelly Flood to control Shelly 1 via DDD

  • Hello,

I want to shutdown a water pump when the flood condition is detected. For this I have the following setup:

    1. Wireless router with some SSID used to make all Shelly devices communicate in the same network

    2. one Shelly 1 relay with static IP address (192.168.1.20/24)

    3. one Shelly Flood, now with DHCP obtained address (currently 192.168.1.8/24 - leased for 2 days)

    4. one laptop with DHCP obtained address (currently 192.168.1.6/24 - leased for 2 days)

The Shelly Flood is configured to access the "http://192.168.1.20/relay/0?turn=off" when flood is detected.

Even if I simulate a flood (putting together 2 pins from Shelly Flood) the sensor is not sending anything. I`m monitoring the network using the laptop and Wireshark and there is no communication between Shelly Flood (192.168.1.8) to Shelly 1 (192.168.1.20) when the flood is detected."Rain mode" is off.

If I use the same URL ("http://192.168.1.20/relay/0?turn=off") from the laptop`s (192.168.1.6) browser the Shelly 1 works as expected.

So, the problem seems to be some setting in the Shelly Flood device.

I want to mention that both devices have the latest firmware.

Please, can you help me figure out what is wrong with my setup and config?

    Thank you in advance!

  • My first tests were with static IP (192.168.1.30/24) and only after that I change to DHCP. I will revert back to static.

My alarm simulation is between 5 seconds up to 20ish seconds and consist of a direct connection between 2 pins that lead to sound alarm.

I tried with the sensor in standby mode and with it "awake" using the push button, with the same results.

Is this the correct way to simulate the alarm? How long should I keep the contact between pins to simulate the alarm?

    Thank you!

  • I have disabled the cloud.

Tomorrow I will set the IP to static, test for a longer period and get back here with the results.

    Thank you for the information!
