    when I create a thermostat on my Shelly Wall Display, I get the warning:

    “You are about to create a new thermostat. The switch component will be unavailable. The device will perform a soft reboot. Do you want to continue?”

    After enabling thermostat mode, the switch component disappears and the relay can no longer be controlled as a normal switch.

    This is a big limitation for my setup, since the relay is connected to a light and I only want to use the thermostat for monitoring and automation — not for directly controlling the relay.

    My question:

    • Is there any way (maybe via settings, API, scripting, or firmware rollback) to keep the switch component available while thermostat mode is active?
    • Has anyone found a workaround, e.g. a “detached output” setting for the thermostat?

    Any help or confirmation would be appreciated!
