  • Hallo,

I think I'm doing something wrong when installing Shelly1 and I was hoping you could help.

    This is my current circuit:

    Double-switch and 5 bulbs.

    Red + Blue = Bulbs 1 & 2

    Green + Blue = Bulbs 3, 4 & 5

Red + Green = No bulbs

Red Wire (L2 Load) = Hot Wire

I am trying to follow wiring diagram for "Special - No N-Conductor at the Switch"

I have cancelled Green wire so I can only work with Blue and Red.

    Scenario 1:

Shelly blinks non-stop (On-Off-On-Off-etc.) and so does the Bulb.

Shelly is Offline in the Mobile App, but I can hear it (phisically) blink.

    Scenario 2:

I know it's Alternative Current, but I have switched the wires between them.

    Shelly doesn't power-up.

Bulb works OK but it's controlled only by the switch.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Hi ,

unfortunately, your schematics are both wrong.

    The Shelly 1 has a potential-free contact between I and O. So you switch a short-circuit beetween L and N.

Please urgently take help from someone who is familiar with electrical engineering.

  • I sorted this out eventually. The wiring was incorrect obviously...

What I was hoping was for someone to point out my mistake. Anyways ...

The blue wire in the ceiling was actually different to the blue wire behind the switch.

    That's what got me confused.

I was lucky to have a double-switch so I was able to bring both N and L to the switch.

Everything works now and I love the product.
