Shelly Duos turn off light switch

    Hello all,


    I have a problem with my Duos.

    I can put up to 3 bulbs in my lamp. The electric circuit is built for a 2-button light switch, but I have bypassed 1 of the wires, so I just use a 1-button light switch instead to command all 3 bulbs.

    When I turn off 1 or 2 Shelly Duo (out of 3) everything works ok.

    When I turn off all 3 Shelly Duos, after 1 second or so, the light switch itself shuts down for some reason ... and I have to manually turn it on, because my Duos go offline.

    How do I solve this problem?

    Hi @dodo_tk , welcome to the forum. :)

    Sounds like you switch the voltage away from the DUO with your switch and they logically go offline.

    Correct, but I’m not doing this manually.

    I turn off the Duo from the App and after 1sec the nonsmart-switch (VL-C701 Livolo switch) turns itself off => Duos go offline.

    How do I turn off my Duos keeping the switch On?

    I’ve done some testing. Livolo switch will not auto-turnoff if there is at least 1 more bulb in parallel (either on or off - doesn’t matter)

    I think it has something to do with the overall circuit electric resistance

    There are different possibilitys:

    • turn on / off with app
    • with http-requests
    • with an automatisation-system like IOB, Homematic ...
