Morning
I had a lot of difficulty with the initial setup of the RGBW2 - I had to factory reset several times in a row before the local web UI became accessible. Since then I have been able to add it to my network in client mode, but getting it to work with the Shelly Cloud has been near impossible - the normal web interface shows the device, but I can't access it. The mobile app shows the device and says the firmware is up to date - but I can't control the device (the app just hangs and I have to force close/restart the app). The device reports in the local management interface (over local IP) that new firmware is available, but the firmware will not update by any means tried.
The local management UI reports:
Zitat
The current Firmware version of your Shelly device is 20190822-083406/master@4148d2b7 New version 20230511-223234/v1.13.1-gb0b8c19 is available.
I have tried many, many more factory resets. I have tried the OTA link generator and I think just about every version of the firmware available. Support sent me a slightly different link for an OTA update, and I tried that too. Usually I will get the json output in the browser of:
{"status":"updating","has_update":false,"new_version":"20230511-223234/v1.13.1-gb0b8c19","old_version":"20190822-083406/master@4148d2b7"}
When the device restarts, it just comes back online with the original firmware.
Support also asked me to then reset the device with the following command:
But the web UI will respond with "Not Found"
I've been trying to get this to work for two weeks and the most recent email from Customer Support simply said:
ZitatThank you!
Could you please try to connect the device to a hotspot network and try to update the firmware version from the localhost of the device?
You can enter the local host of the device by accessing it by IP.
Let us know if the problem still persists afterward.
Not exactly helpful, as my original email informed them of all the different troubleshooting attempts I have attempted. Their first reply was more helpful, but now they are just sending me boiler-plate template emails that do not help at all.
Previously to this I tested a shelly 1 to control the on/off of some speakers attached to a Raspberry Pi and it performed very well - so then I ordered lots more. But now I am regretting my second order of these - it has been a very, very frustrating experience so far.
