Cannot add Shelly1 (v3) to the app. Not even add by IP address. Device working fine on local wifi.

  • Maybe I am missing something obvious, so I apologize if that is the case.
    I have number of Shelly devices installed over a year ago, now adding more Shelly1 devices.

    Problem: I cannot add a new Shelly 1 device to a room.
    Have tried factory reset and any other idea that could possibly work, including upgrading to latest firmware.

    And also tried with new Shelly1 device I purchased yesterday just to verify it is not the device is faulty, same results.

    Device works fine on local address and does what is needed, but cannot be added to a room on cloud or app.

    When adding device to a room (after factory reset) it shows up and I select add, then all seems fine, but is not added to the room (is added to the wifi as it should).

    I have access to the device on local IP address, can set up any features and wifi strenght is good.

    No error messages visible at any stage in the various ways of adding the device, except when adding by IP address (where the device works fine on that address).

    The error shows at the bottom of the add by IP screen (see attached screenshot).

    Error message: "Not a recognized Shelly device"

    Any ideas for me to try (or do correctly :-) )

  • WORKS NOW !

    I have tried for days to get it to work. without success.

    Suddenly today it just works fine and no error when adding the device.

    Have no idea what could have been the issue (unless it is related to the cloud/app in some way that has been fixed.
