I've just had some Shelly Dimmer 2 installed to control a number of spotlights. There wasn't enough space to install the Shelly's into the light switch backbox so they were put up into the ceiling where the spotlights are.
1 of the Shelly's keeps coming up with an over temperature detected warning and then shuts down but two of them are absolutely fine.
The two that are fine are connected to 6x 5W LED spotlights each. When at 100% brightness, they draw around 19 to 21W (according to the Shelly app). The Shelly that overheats is connected to 12x 5W LED spotlights and the Shelly app says they draw around 40W at 100% brightness. However, even when I drop this to just 20% brightness and the max load in the app says it drops to around 18W, then it still creates shutsdown and gives the over heat warning.
All of the Shelly devices are on the latest firmware: 20211109-131033/v1.11.7-g682a0db
I'm using an Google Pixel 2 mobile and I'm using the latest Shelly Cloud app (5.1.27/e1fcd8a)
I found an old post that seemed to talk about the same thing here: Dimmer 2 overtemperature error It mentioned about changing the setting for leading edge to trailing edge. I've tried trailing edge but I get the same problem and I've tried the auto calibration setting too and that still hasn't helped.
I'm not sure what else to try? Any suggestions?
