Adapter ring for older TVR valves (M28 to M30)

  • Hi,

I ordered 4 Shelly TRV's to replace some older manual TRV's. It turned out the the adapter rings that are delivers by Shelly did not fit. In stead of helping me to resolve the problem, Shelly simply told me to return the TRV's on my own expense. This frustrated me as a simple converter ring from M30-1,5mm to M28-1,5mm would resolve the problem.

So please find attached some 3D files to print an adaptor ring. I hope this might help you should you have a similar issue.

  • Hello eric.joris,

I can understand your frustration with the answer, although we don't know your question.

Please keep in mind that Allterco includes 3 adapters which is already more than some other manufacturers. However, you can not expect that they can really deliver the right adapter for every connection.

Thank you for the files, these will also be helpful to other users!

  • Hi, i have the same issue, my thread seems to be also m28 and i cannot mount these two TRV i just received two days ago.

I have open a support ticket and waiting for any proposal from Shelly.

But as i don't think i will print adaptors, could it exist some adaptors somewhere ? Or is the 3D print the only option ?

And if printing, which plastic can we use ? PLA should be too weak i guess to be adapted on a quite hot place ?

  • Hi Bemo47,

I found these adapters, but the problem I have is that they stick out even more. The Shelly TRV already sticks out a lot. With the adapter it is even more. The ring actually takes up less space. Also, I'll probably need a lot more TRV's and if I print them myself it's a lot cheaper.

I actually run in quite some issues with the Shelly TRV and they work very unreliable even with the Shelly App. Integration in Home Assistant is not working at all. What is your experience with it?
