WiFi client connection problem/bug

I am unable to get the Button 1 to connect to my WiFi as there appears to be a bug in the software which won't allow it to connect when there are special characters eg # and ( in the WiFi password.

If I reconfigure my WiFi router and remove these characters and reconfigure the Button 1 then it connects to my WiFi

Anyone else come across this problem and have a workaround?
