It seems there were some bad bugs a while back causing the DW sensor to have poor battery life that have been fixed. Also, it appears assigning a static IP and making the device stick to an AP helps a lot.
What a lot of folks don't talk about is battery life while using the lux sensor. I honestly don't care at all about the reed switch and only want the lux sensor. My Zwave lux sensor has a wake interval you can set to send new lux measurements (say 10 or 15 minutes). However, the Shelly docs are sparse and the DW API doesn't have a parameter like this listed. Considering lux changes absolutely constantly, I'm curious what people's experiences have been with battery life.
In other news, Shelly devs and management, it would be AWESOME if there was an online demo of each of the Shelly product's web interfaces so we could simply click around and see what's there. Make it part of your CI/CD to push out with new firmware and it could probably save some documentation effort if folks could just mess around in a virtual dummy version of the product on your website.
