Shelly1 on Unifi Network Not Getting IP addresses after successfully authenticating to Wifi

  • Hello technologically gifted friends,

I've got a box of these Shelly1 relays to go in a lovely house and today we started on the first two.

We currently have two devices that have been confirmed through the app as on the local wifi network however are showing as having no IP in the controller.

Please see screenshots. I've named them for ease of reference.

We initially wired the second-floor switch relay and found it just fine with the shelly app.

Entered the wifi credentials and had a nice promising green tick but there is no discovered device room to be found and, as you can see from the screenshot, the devices do not appear to have an address.

We tried the second unit with iOS and had the same issue.

I then tried to log into the relay by going to the gateway on it's own wifi and joined the property wifi network there to see if that made any difference, and alas.. same .. just see the mac address and no IP assinted.

So this is all pointing to the network. Does anyone have any ideas?

    THanks for your time.

    Keep happy and healhty

    Todd Mack

  • Hi and welcome to the forum. :)

I've moved your thread. Here there are many themes for unifiy-problems, mostly in German.

    Have a look please.

I don't have Unify myself, so i'm sorry, that i can't help more.

    Good luck.

  • I am having this EXACT same problem with my shelly1 devices on a unify network. I used an android phone, the app found the device to add to the network, but immediately on the successful notification of the device being added, the shelly DOES NOT automatically show in the "discovered devices" to add to a room. I hope we get some feedback from this because I am greatly disappointed. I am sorry you are experiencing this too, but glad to know I am not alone.

  • The issue was resolved thanks to advice given on ubiquiti community forum:

created a own IoT Vlan and a separate SSID with 2.4Ghz only. DTIM set to 1!!

    no issues…

    All working now.
