Where do I configure the over-power limit for the Pro 4PM?

  • Hello,

I have previously been impressed by the over-power shutdown feature that I've used on the Shelly 1PM. My understanding is that the Pro 4PM also has this feature. However, I can't find it in the settings for the device. Am I missing something?

When the unit has crashed (see my other thread, about inductive load switching), I have had spurious alert emails, telling me that an overload has been detected, and the unit switched off, so there's definitely something going on. I've also had the same spurious alerts when there has been no crash:

Shelly Cloud - Overpower consumption detected by 84cca87f9380!

84cca87f9380 detected overpower consumption and turned off!

But, there are no log entries.

    Thank you for reading.

  • Thank you for your reply. I am using the Shelly app, as I am not at the site, so not on the LAN to directly access the web interface of the device.

Maybe the app doesn't expose these settings?

But!.. Oddly, remote access to a Shelly 1 PM does give me this option (under 'Safety'):

Der Inhalt kann nicht angezeigt werden, da Sie keine Berechtigung haben, diesen Inhalt zu sehen.

That's from a Shelly 1PM at a different site. The Shelly Pro 4PM gives this (several missing options):

Der Inhalt kann nicht angezeigt werden, da Sie keine Berechtigung haben, diesen Inhalt zu sehen.

Going into 'Settings' allows only editing the name, picture, etc.

There certainly appears to be a difference.

    Thank you for reading.

  • Thank you! I found it. I wasn't aware that the beta is the preferred software. With most other manufaturers the 'official' release is the stable software, and I generally stick with that for anything I set up for customers.

So, is it the case that the beta is the one that should be used for everything, including my end users?
