Help please !! - shelly dimmer2 toasted

  • Hi all,

my electrician installed today a shelly dimmer 2 to control 6 dimmable gu10 spot (3 watt each). We used one button switch where if I press it once it turns on, with the second press it turns off, and if I keep pushing, it dims the lights. I connected the shelly in my network, updated it, and tested, for a moment. It was working ok. Turned on - off and dimming. The evening though when I turned them on, after 10 minutes the shelly made a "noise" and the lights gone.

edit: I request a calibration and I think it did the calibration. It took 4-5 minutes I think where the lights where turned on and off and (probably dimmed) but I am not sure for the dimming because we installed them in the morning)

The electrician (he has no experience from shelly dimmer) doesn't knows what is wrong. Can someone help please? What could probably went wrong?

  • Hi,

are you shure, you've the same phase on L and SW ?

If not, you have 400V on the shelly if sw is switched on.

This can work for a short time.

Can you upload a picture please?

  • To be honest I very bad with these, that's why I asked for electrician.

    these are the photos below.

I really hope you can understand what is going on because I can't and I would like to show to the electrician what is wrong in order to fix it. I have one more shelly dimmer 2 but I am afraid that it will have problem too.

  • Sorry, but no reliable statement can be made on the basis of these images.

    That has to be measured!

The Shelly's own fuse reinforces my assumption that the phase on L is not the same as on SW when the switch is pressed. There may only be 1 phase on the Shelly!

Otherwise you have 400V at the moment of switching!

what to measured? Can you clarify please ( I don't understand) . He will come tomorrow morning and I would like to show him this conversation in order for him to understand what could probably goes wrong so he will be able to fix it.
