Can I use a Plug S to measure solar pannel production

    Hi there,

    I know that one can measure the production of a solar panel with a Shelly EM.

    But as my one solar panel is plugged to a socket of the wall, I wanted to check if one could also use a Shelly Plug S to measure its production.

    Logically it should work and the measured value would be negative, but will this be OK for the Plug S or risk to damage it?

    I don't own a Plug S but if it works the same way as 1PM then the solar production will NOT show as nevative value. My 600W solar system only shows positive values. Unfortunately there is no option in the app to declare a device as power production instead of consumer.
