Only two wires on ceiling rose UK

  • Hi all, new to the forum and Shelly newbie here!

I'm based in the UK and tried wiring a new Shelly 1 on the kitchen pendant today (I don't have space near the switch). To my surprise, this ceiling rose was completely different than the others I have around the house where I literally only have three wires (brown, blue, and earth).

How does one connect a Shelly to that? I tried following a video here as well as the information on the wki, but all of them mentioned having a switched and a continuously live wire (which I don't have).

The back of my pendant looks like this and the wires coming from the ceiling connect directly to it.

I'm a bit stumped and would appreciate any advice.

    Thank you!

Then you only have the switched phase and the neutral on the lamp.

You will still have a junction box somewhere.

    or you use this variant

Then the switch must always remain on for smart operation

That makes a lot of sense! Thank you!
