Community Guidelines
Our forum serves as a "customer helps customer" platform, where respectful and appreciative interaction is paramount. To ensure a positive and constructive atmosphere, adherence to certain basic rules is essential. We reserve the right to block or remove users and content if these rules are violated.
General Communication
- Respect and Appreciation
Behind every post is a person whose views and opinions must be respected, even if they differ from your own. Insults, derogatory comments, or any form of demeaning behavior are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. - Responsibility for Your Posts
Each user is responsible for what they write. Posts should be honest and transparent, without hiding behind the anonymity of the internet. Respect the opinions of others and argue constructively. - "You" as the Preferred Form of Address
To foster a friendly and open atmosphere, we prefer using "you" in the forum. This helps reinforce equality and closeness among participants. - Clear and Readable Posts
Well-formulated and structured posts make it easier for others to understand and demonstrate respect for your readers. Pay attention to spelling, grammar, and sensible formatting. Paragraphs and sparingly used formatting enhance readability significantly. Speed is no excuse for illegible posts. - Avoiding Misunderstandings
Written communication can easily be misunderstood, especially without gestures and facial expressions. Be mindful of avoiding ambiguities through clear wording, and exercise caution with irony and sarcasm, as they are often misinterpreted. - Use Abbreviations Sparingly
Abbreviations should only be used when they are widely known. Remember that posts should remain comprehensible even years later, especially for new readers who find the forum through search engines. - Know When to End a Discussion
Not every discussion leads to an agreement. If opinions are irreconcilable, it is better to agree to disagree rather than escalate conflicts through repetition. Constructive discussions are more valuable than unnecessary arguments.
Undesirable Content
Our forum focuses on the operation and use of Shelly products and related technical aspects. Topics that deviate significantly from this can overwhelm the moderation team and will therefore be removed, especially if they are controversial or off-topic.
- Advertising is Prohibited
The forum is not a platform for promoting websites, products, or services. Referral links are also not allowed. Exceptions require prior approval from Shelly DACH GmbH. - Copyright Violations are Forbidden
Links or content that violate copyright laws, as well as incitements to such actions, are not permitted. - No Political or Religious Discussions
The forum is not the place for political or religious debates. These topics belong on specialized platforms.
